Course and user enrollment process testing continues, and the user interface is designed. Additional faculty training sessions are available.
The initial configuration and theming of Brightspace were completed this week. While ITS is still working on setting the default location of various Brightspace features within each course, ITS continues to make progress on testing course and user enrollment processes.
ITS has completed testing the first batch of course migrations and is evaluating alternative tools within Brightspace to replace any Moodle tools that may not have direct equivalents. This process ensures a seamless transition and maintains the functionality faculty and students rely on. Please note that unlike Moodle, which allows users to log in without being enrolled in a course, Brightspace requires user enrollment in at least one course before the system can be accessed.
In addition, more faculty training options for Brightspace have been made available. Please refer to https://brightspaceinfo.aurora.edu/training for a comprehensive list of upcoming training sessions and resources.
Next week, ITS staff members designated as Brightspace administrators will be attending training sessions. Having completed the initial testing phase with sandbox access, ITS will begin granting sandbox access to the Instructional Technology Committee. This controlled access will allow further evaluation before extending sandbox access to additional faculty. Sandbox access notifications will be distributed once it is available. ITS will conduct testing of courses, user enrollment, and course migration processes and continue modifying the Brightspace user interface.
